Welcome and thanks for dropping by my website.

I am pleased to announce that my nomination papers were filed Friday, May 11th at the Township of Essa's office for the position of School Board Trustee for the Simcoe County District School Board (English-Public) for the municipalities of Essa, Clearview, Adjala-Tosorontio, and CFB Borden.

The Simcoe County District School Board provides educational services to over 50,000 students across 107 locations. We are Simcoe County's largest employer with almost 6000 employees serving in a wide variety of areas. Our combined operational and capital budget top 700 million dollars.

We have celebrated significant successes over the past decade including over 80 million dollars in new investments in schools, the introduction of French Immersion, and Advanced Placement programs, and much more. We are known as a fiscally prudent board, but not at the expense of students. As a matter of fact, we reallocated almost two million dollars back from our administrative line to classrooms, and have easily passed a transportation efficiency review.

These successes are attributable to a culture of engagement with our students, communities, and other stakeholders, and the hard work of many dedicated staff. In addition, our Board of Trustees oversee policy decisions and large scale budgeting for our board.

I am proud to be part of a progressive, prudent, and effective board and would welcome the opportunity to represent the students, families, and communities in Essa, Clearview, and Adjala-Tosorontio over the next four years. I make decisions based on research, community input, and what I feel is the best long term for all of our students. I have an unparalleled attendance record for board meetings and committees that I am part of, and ensure that questions are asked of the leadership team of our board in order to make good decisions. I've been honoured to serve as our Board's Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, as well as lead of Business and Facilities Committee several times. I've been a part of a wide variety of committees and these experiences help me when it comes time to make decisions at the board table. I have a number of years experience with our Special Education Advisory Committee, having started with that committee as an advocate from 2000 to 2003 before being elected to the Board.

I feel I have the skills, experience, attitude, and track record to serve. Your support would be very greatly appreciated.
