Raised in Mississauga, my wife and I decided to move to Simcoe County over 20 years ago. Ironically, looking back, it was the school system that drove our decision to move to the area to a large degree. Back in '97, Simcoe County, despite being a smaller board than in Mississauga, offered Junior Kindergarten, which our eldest daughter was desperately ready for, so we packed and headed to the south end of the County. It took a bit to adjust to the slower pace and the other changes, but within a couple of years, we both agreed that the 'big city' would never get us back. We love the slower pace, the wide open spaces, and the more manageable costs of living in the rural / small town atmosphere of Simcoe County.

I work as a facilities manager for a large charitable organization in Simcoe County and my wife of 25 years, Shelly, works as a nurse in Simcoe County as well. We have two grown daughters who went through the public school system here in Simcoe, and have been well prepared for the next chapters in their lives.

Shelly and I call Essa Township home. We are avid campers, hikers, and kayakers. We enjoy day trips to the many corners of this area to discover the rich history and unique stories of the people and places of Ontario.
